Roedean Boarding School for Girls . The most welcoming private school in Brighton for international students.

Roedean is located just on the eastern edge of Brighton, overlooking the marina. It is easily reached by train (15 minutes from the station) or by car.

Roedean and the Downs

We welcome our international students because we believe two key Roedean characteristics – open-mindedness and individuality – come from a diverse student mix.

International students make up 45% of our community, with girls coming from over 30 countries.

We always prefer families to visit, if possible, in order to understand and appreciate the unique qualities of Roedean. You will then sit entrance exams in English, Maths and Non-Verbal Reasoning. These exams are usually taken locally at an agent’s office, at your current school or at the British Council.

Our facilities include a multi-purpose sports hall with a well-equipped fitness room, a 25m indoor swimming pool, 12 netball courts, 15 tennis courts, hockey pitches, a cricket pitch, an athletics track, a golf driving range and squash courts. We have a close relationship with Albourne Equestrian Centre.

Within Art and Design we offer a huge range of techniques from painting and drawing to ceramics, constructed textiles, graphic design, illustration, CAD, printmaking and photography.
