The Entry Process

Come and visit us

If you are considering sending your son or daughter to Oakham, please come and visit us. Contact our Registrar to attend an Open Morning or arrange a visit.

Register your son or daughter

Registering your son or daughter indicates your firm interest in Oakham School. This does not imply any commitment on either side, but does ensure we keep in touch with you and let you know when you need to take further action.

Confirm your interest with a deposit

We will request a deposit before entry (refundable if we are unable to offer a place). The timing of this request depends on the proposed entry age. Payment of the deposit confirms that Oakham is your first choice of school. When we receive this, we will make a provisional House allocation and place offer (conditional upon our entry requirements being fulfilled).

Entrance examinations

Links on the right of this page give details according to your child’s proposed age of entry. Academic and specialist scholarships are available for 11+, 13+ and 16+ entrants and all can be supplemented with bursary assistance.
