Edge Grove is a co-educational day and boarding preparatory school for pupils aged 3 to 13, set in 28 acres of glorious Hertfordshire countryside. The school thrives on its traditional family ethos and excellent pastoral care. Edge Grove has a long history of boarding, and full, weekly or flexi boarding is offered from age 7.

Sports facilities include a large sports hall, all-weather tennis/netball courts, an AstroTurf pitch, nine acres of playing fields, indoor and outdoor cricket nets and a heated outdoor swimming pool.

Small class sizes and specialist teaching enable pupils to achieve highly. Edge Grove focuses on the total curriculum, for excellence in all areas, allowing each child to reach his or her true potential. The full implementation of the new Independent Curriculum in September 2013 will ensure that children are encouraged to discover, apply and communicate their learning and understanding, to become independent thinkers, to grow in confidence whilst enjoying inspirational and creative teaching

The majority of pupils play a musical instrument, and all major sports are played by boys and girls, with a deliberate balance between excellence and participation for all.
Each year the school puts on a major musical production, involving pupils from Years 5–8, and every child from Nursery to Year 5 is on stage each year in a year group play.
