The Brooke House College campus is situated in the small, pretty, safe, typically English town of Market Harborough, in the county of Leicestershire. The town lies one hour north of London by train, and is 1.5 hours from Britain’s biggest airport, Heathrow, by car.

Brooke House students have for many years enjoyed a close and friendly relationship with the people of Market Harborough. The county of Leicestershire contains some beautiful countryside and the most picturesque of villages. Leicestershire is truly in “the heart of England” and the major cities of Oxford, Cambridge and England’s second city, Birmingham, are all very accessible.

A staff to student ratio of 5:1 fosters close academic and pastoral supervision and its small size – 220 students – promotes a real family atmosphere. Students leave Brooke House for some of Britain’s best universities, equipped with the skills and maturity which will serve them through until completion of their degree studies.

This Georgian mansion, known as “Brooke House”, built at the beginning of the eighteenth century lies at the heart of the college campus. It houses a number of the college’s classrooms, all the college’s administrative departments and the reference library. The library provides books for reference, university brochures and other higher education information materials, as well as being an area very conducive to quiet, focused study.

All the boarding houses possess a sitting room, with television and video facilities, a kitchen where students can provide their own snacks in the evenings and at weekends and a students’ telephone. While all accommodation blocks possess their own laundry facilities there is also a central laundry with industrial washing and drying machines.

Students choosing to live on campus are looked after by a full-time team of staff 24 hours per day. Members of staff live on campus during the term time, and during holiday periods, overseeing the students in their accommodation. Students are housed in five single-sex, comfortable, well-equipped accommodation blocks. While a few ‘boys’ rooms take three students the majority are twin and single rooms. The majority of ‘girls’ rooms are singles although a small number of girls may share rooms. Students are encouraged to play a full part in this residential international community and learn the skills of tolerance and mutual respect necessary to live happily alongside each other.

EFL provision is included in the fees for the fees for those students for whom English is not the first language. Students may study EFL alongside all academic programmes or they may join our English Language Reception Course prior to starting their academic programme. English Language students are assisted by specialist teaching staff and a state of the art CALL centre rooke House is a residential, co-educational College.
