Wrekin College Sixth Form

There is an extensive programme of academic enrichment to encourage greater breadth and depth of learning, well beyond A Level subjects. These include workshops, lectures, debates, quiz nights and academic trips provided either in-house or facilitated by outside professionals. For example, pupils might join a guest speaker for a meal following the evening’s event, to gain academic and careers advice.

Good examination results are absolutely crucial. At Wrekin we are proud of our wide academic embrace and our track record of providing individual care and attention to ensure that all our pupils achieve their potential. At A level we expect at least a quarter of our results to be A* or A grades, and well over half A*, A or B. Our pupils have to prepared for their exams, many of them balancing significant sporting, musical and other commitments while getting on with their studies.

Admission

Pupils are offered places at Wrekin, subject to satisfactory references from their current school, in December ten months prior to admission. A place is confirmed with payment of the acceptance deposit. Joining papers are then sent out over the summer following GCSE results.
