Summer Schools UK: Hastings

Our Hastings summer school gives students an opportunity of experiencing a year-round Embassy Study Centre.  You’ll feel like part of a family as you get to know all the teachers by first name.

The centre is in the attractive historic building in the Saint Leonards area of Hastings, whilst nearby you can find the beach, shops, historic buildings, parks, amusements and new modern art gallery.

Facilities

  • Classrooms: Sixteen classrooms with interactive whiteboards which aid students learning.
  • Computer room: With free use of computer for all students. Relax with friends in the games room and student lounge.
  • Dining Hall: There is a cafeteria in the school serving a range of hot meals, including a vegetarian option, snack and beverages.
  • Email:Free wireless internet access available throughout the campus.Daytime activities
    • Sports: Tennis, Football, Multi-sport and Swimming.
    • Non-sports: Aquarium centre visit, Cinema trip, 10-pin Bowling,Treasure Hunt and Quiz.

    Evening activities

    • Welcome party, Discos, Film Night, Barbecue, Roller-disco and Karaoke

      Excursions**

      Included in the course price:

      • One full-day and two half-day trip, by coach each week.
      • The two half-day trips are into Hastings.

      Examples of typical included excursions:

      • Local visits: Hastings Castle, Smugglers Adventure Caves, Blue Reef Aquarium, Shipwreck Heritage Centre and Fishermen’s Museum.
      • London: The UK capital offers an unrivalled choice of shopping, world-class galleries, museums and so much more.
      • Brighton: Just one hour from London, Brighton is an historic and colourful city by the sea with great shops, palace, pier, bars and restaurants.
      • Cambridge: This historic city, with its grand universities and museums, narrow streets and shops can all be enjoyed on foot.
      • Canterbury: An historic cathedral city, which is the centre of the Church of England.
      • Oxford: Home to England’s oldest university, you’ll enjoy exploring Oxford’s grand buildings, containing museums, shops and colleges.
